Oh yes, you are absolutely right. Comments are just as rewarding as voting. It is much more interesting for the author to write something when someone reads it, analyzes it, thinks about the topic raised, and has something to say about it. Likewise, inclusion in a magazine is a sign that someone's work has been noticed.
