Glitch Art (power up 100%)steemCreated with Sketch.

Wikipedia defines "glitch" art as "...using digital or analog errors for aesthetic purposes..." Looking back, I've been a fan of glitches since before I knew what one was. Even as a kid, while I knew that the interesting pattern on the television was because the "horizontal hold" needed adjustment, I still liked that slanted, noisy pattern.

While my glitchy-ness doesn't happen by accident, I enjoy intentionally replicating it. My creations aren't run through any program to make them glitchy. I decide where to place boxes or strips of noise and what parts to blur or repeat. That way, I can choose the exact result, rather than hoping for a pretty accident.

What I'm sharing today is a series of three glitchy adaptations of one of the most famous paintings of all time, the Mona Lisa. It was painted in the first decade of the 16th century by Leonardo da Vinci, and is thought to be a portrait of Lisa Gherardini, an Italian noblewoman, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo.

First the original, then my glitch art interpretations.

I like the second glitch more than others))

Thank you @bambuka, for looking and voting and commenting! My fave is the first, just because I'm fond of a little more color. I should probably make a new one with the best parts of all three!

Excellent, @cryptigital.

I chose your publication to be nominated in the Contest Nominate and get Rewarded: 20% Trial Upvote, (Nomination Day 09) - Steemit, because I consider that the Art "Glitch" is very interesting, because the effects that you achieve are not accidental but intentional.
