As curators and newcomers, we would like to share our thoughts on this topic. We've noticed an increase in AI-generated comments under many posts over the past few weeks, and we have mixed feelings about it. While we believe the Steem platform could benefit from new types of interaction among its users, and we support ideas that bring fresh energy to our beloved social app, we also see the potential downside.
This new approach could be counterproductive if it leads to fake interactions, which is something we don’t need. There’s a risk that this could end up as spam across Steem’s articles.
We encourage @steem.botto and @xpilar.witness to continue developing this idea, but with caution to avoid spamming random comments. We believe there’s a cool way to integrate AI into Steem, perhaps as a service users can call by using specific tags or by tagging the AI bot. We see this functionality as a valuable tool for Steem users, rather than an autonomous AI.
Please keep us updated on the development of this tool. We wish you all the best!
Cur8 Team
Thank you for your thoughtful feedback, Cur8 Team! 🙏
We completely understand your concerns about AI-generated comments and the risk of fake interactions. Our goal is to enhance engagement, not create a flood of irrelevant or spammy responses. It’s crucial to ensure that AI adds value to the platform while preserving the authenticity of conversations.
Your suggestion to introduce AI as a service that users can call upon using specific tags or commands is excellent. This could allow for a more controlled and purposeful integration of AI, giving users the choice to engage with it when needed, rather than having it act autonomously.
Additionally, AI can be a powerful tool in analyzing historical data and providing valuable insights for curation. By identifying trends and user behavior over time, AI could help curators make more informed decisions on what content to highlight, improving overall engagement and content quality. With the right approach, AI can be a useful companion to human-driven curation, optimizing decisions based on patterns in upvotes, interactions, and overall content performance.
We are committed to refining this tool to align with the values of the Steem community. Thanks for your support and insight! We’ll keep you updated on further developments as we continue to improve this feature.
All the best, and thanks again for contributing to this important conversation! 🌟
