Some Gothic Tiny Planet Imagery - Mainly of Trees, Taken on Widecombe-in-the-Moor, Dartmoor, Devon

Hi. How are you? 😎

If you've seen my work and photos before, you may know I like photography or taking photos and recently in the last few years, I have used my 360 degree camera to capture interesting imagery (both photos and videos) and this includes tiny planet photos and videos. The footage (pics, or indeed vids) can be converted this way and it can create some striking/interesting/unusual/artistic images and videos! 😊

So, below are some quite gothic (because of the shapes and angles of the branches and the trees) and striking photos taken from my 360 degree pics and converted to this tiny planet, or, in some cases, inverted tiny planet images/imagery and edited with an Android/phone app called Snapseed. It is a great and useful/versatile app.

Have a look and tell me what you think, including which one or ones are your favourite image or pic/s?

Here's some info about Widecombe-in-the-Moor:

Widecombe in the Moor is a village and large civil parish on Dartmoor National Park in Devon, England. Its church is known as the Cathedral of the Moors on account of its tall tower and its size, relative to the small population it serves. It is a favourite tourist centre, partly for its scenic character and partly for its connection to the popular song “Widecombe Fair”.

Tourism is a major source of income for Widecombe today, and within a small area of the village there are several gift shops (including a National Trust shop), two cafes and two pubs.

The village is well known for Widecombe Fair, held annually and celebrated by a folksong of the same name, featuring "Old Uncle Tom Cobley and All". Its words were first published in 1880, and the characters from the song are featured in many of the souvenirs on sale in the local shops.

Yes, it's easy to manipulate or convert 360 degree images into tiny planet/inverted tiny planet images on your device, but then you have to edit them and add or create different effects, e.g filters, to adjust the brightness/contrast/saturation and so on, to make them look interesting or striking (as you know!). Snapseed or an equivalent app is very useful to do that. It's a fun and creative process...and a bit different. 😊
