A Trip To Polperro, Cornwall, UK
Hello, this is my entry for the WOX travel contest week 8. Recently, we visited the quaint coastal, fishing village of Polperro in Cornwall, UK. It is a popular tourist destination, especially in the summer months and it has a long history of fishing and smuggling, dating back to the 13th century. Have a look at my photos and post.
Polperro harbour
We visited the beautiful village of Polperro located in south Cornwall, England. It has many narrow streets, and quaint whitewashed stone houses, which give it a charming and picturesque appearance. It has various traditional pubs and shops and a working harbour with numerous boats, especially fishing vessels. Here are some of the highlights, cool streets and buildings you can find in this evocative location.

Polperro has been a thriving fishing and smuggling port since the 13th century. Its narrow streets and hidden alleys were once used by smugglers to evade the authorities during the 18th and 19th centuries. Today, visitors can learn about the village’s maritime history and smuggling activities at the Polperro Heritage Museum of Smuggling and Fishing. You can also visit the Polperro Model Village, but it was closed when we went there.
