After what seems like a very long "drought," the Steem token seems to be showing a few signs of life... in tandem with a lot of the other "Alt coins."
It has been a very long time since I have seen as many green up arrows in the Coinmarketcap listings as there are right now.
Alas, Steem still ranks at No. 162 in market cap, mostly because everything is moving up at the moment, so there's no significant relative gain, compared to other tokens.
More Activity Coming?
One of the things I do remember about the last run-up we had is just how much activity increased.
The community went from a pretty sleepy blogging venue to suddenly having a lot of activity, as tens of thousands of people suddenly started posting, voting and commenting.
What I particularly liked was that authentic engagement was a lot higher because sincere commenting could actually earn some nice rewards, in a market where many content creators were able to give their comments meaningful upvotes without draining their resource credits and voting power.
It would be nice to see some kind of return to days like that!
Anyway, just a short post for the moment... I'll probably be back with a "real" post, later tonight. In the meantime, let's all enjoy this bit of good news, while it lasts!

TRX has been sneaking up a little, too, which could make Steem attractive for a totally different community.
I was just thinking the other day that I used to enjoy being able to give out ten or twenty cent votes from my manual voting account. I think it's much easier to retain people if there are lots of accounts that are able to give out decent sized votes.
Anyway, fingers crossed that this isn't just another pump & dump.

Right now, it "appears" to have slowed down, but I think that's mostly because BTC is mooning.
It definitely does help when the price is higher... I think what I valued most was being able to hand out 5-10c votes on worthy comments, AND meaningfully vote on favorite posts... and still not go much below 80% VP.
