Steemit Engagement Challenge WOX Community S10W3: Architectural Photography: One Building | A building once housing an orphanage

in hive-185836 •  2 years ago

DSC_01.jpgf/6.3 1/160sec

The photos shows on of the buildings that was once an orphanage built in 1864 in Mauritus. The second building was built in 1865 and completetly idendical to the first. There is a third building, but hardly anything is left. Te vegetation has taken over. The photos are showing the first oldest building, both outside, from the street and from the third building, to show how they are placed acording to each other. They are built of basalt stones, surrounded by a fence, indicating they are closed off. The photos from the interior shows rooms, that might have been the bedrooms and livingroom. All the photos are taken with camera Nikon D610. ISO 200.

Hello @digi-me

Thanks for your participation.

You have made a really interesting report.

First of all the black and white gives the ruined building an atmosphere of drama that suits it very well.

Secondly you have made an effort in the main rule of architectural photography, the correctness of the verticals. With the exception of the upward-pointing photo, everything is perfectly corrected. The inclusion of a vertical photo also makes the report a bit more dynamic.

The only "but" would be that in the third photo the point of view would have been completely frontal to the façade of the building.

In short, an excellent work that I loved.

Best regards.

Hola @digi-me

Saludos.

Thank you very much :)

Thank you very much for your feedback. Yes, I chose black & white because of the atmosphere of this old, abandoned building. It gave me a bit of a scary feeling exploring the inside.

Thank you for the photography of that old orphanage building, in black and white it reminded me a mystery movies with a haunted building, a bit creepy :)

Our jury will visit your post with the assessment.

Greetings friend @digi-me

It seems to me a good photographic work, the house is scary with that grayscale effect.

Thanks for joining the contest.

Thank you :)

Hi @digi-me.
The very good decision to show these photos in black and white contributes to the documentary and the dramatic nature of the shots.
