Traditional fishermen are one of the oldest occupations in my area Aceh, Indonesia. Almost the majority of coastal communities work as traditional fishermen, although there are also those who work as modern fishermen, but not a few of them still run the profession as traditional fishermen.

Usually they use smaller boats, and the distance is not too far from the mainland. Pukat Darat [Land trawling] is called by the local community. The fishermen anchored the trawl in the same direction as a rolling shape, then pulled back to the mainland. And this activity has been done for generations by coastal communities.

This morning I watched their work, it was seen that trawlers were anchored, and the fishermen were trawling together. Usually they need approximately 1 hour to pull him to the mainland. After arriving on land, fish are usually taken out of the trawl after being pulled. Here are some photography that I managed to capture in one of the Lhokseumawe coastal areas, Aceh-Indonesia.
