Waiting for May

By the middle of the month, everything should already look like this, like in these photos from the year before last, when the lime trees were rampaging, the flowers were blooming and the grass was bright green. I then took these photos near the Mikhailovsky Castle and then lost them, and today I found them and almost all day I could not take my eyes off this shining grass. It was quite warm then, but today my nose is freezing and my feet. Here I look and warm myself.

К середине-то месяца должно уже будет выглядеть всё примерно вот так, как на этих позапрошлогодних фотографиях, когда липы буйствовали, цветочки цвели и травка ярко зеленела. Я тогда сделал эти фотографии около Михайловского замка и потом их потерял, а сегодня нашёл и почти весь день не мог отвести глаз от этой сияющей травы. Тогда совсем тепло было, а сегодня у меня нос мёрзнет и ноги. Вот смотрю и греюсь.

Back then I didn't have any special purpose and I photographed greenery and shadows because I liked it. I took pictures with and without fence rods, so that I could compare them later. And I still don't know what's best. Somewhere there is a bridge of Rossi, and somewhere it is almost invisible. So it's better with a fence, because the bridge was not my goal at all. It's just there.

Тогда у меня не было никакой особой цели и я фотографировал зелень и тени, потому что мне это нравилось. Фотографировал с прутьями ограды и без них, чтобы потом сравнить, как лучше. И я д сих пор не знаю, как лучше. Где-то есть мостик Росси, а где-то его почти не видно. Значит лучше с оградой, потому что мост вообще не был моей целью. Он просто там есть.

But when I switched to black-and-white shooting mode, I already thought about the bridge, because the distracting greenery disappeared. Light and dark accents began to speak. Everything has become less interesting from an entertainment point of view, more strict and reminiscent of the fact that it happens in the city, and not on a forest lawn. I do not perceive architectural photographs in bright colors at all, where everything crumbles into elements when they photograph just a street, and not a specific facade.

Но когда я перешёл в чёрно-белый режим съёмки, то уже подумал и о мостике, потому что исчезла отвлекающая зелень. Заговорили светлые и тёмные акценты. Всё стало менее интересным с развлекательной точки зрения, более строгим и напоминающем о том, что дело происходит в городе, а не на лесной лужайке. Я вообще не воспринимаю архитектурные фотографии в ярких цветах, где всё рассыпается на элементы, когда фотографируют просто улицу, а не какой-то конкретный фасад.

And again I return to the greenery in the viewing, because I am not tired of it yet. This will happen in the second half of summer, when thoughts of the meager colors of autumn and winter will already begin to come. I post these black-and-white photos for comparison to those who are interested in all my writing at all.

И опять я возвращаюсь в просмотре к зелени, потому что я ещё от неё не устал. Это случится во второй половине лета, когда уже начнут приходить мысли о скудных красках осени и зимы. Эти чёрно-белые фотографии размещаю для сравнения тем, кому эта вся моя писанина вообще интересна.
