A Similar Yet, Unusual Journey of Mr Mike

Greetings Steemians, I find delights in being a part of this contest hosted by @franyeligonzalez. Today I want to tell us a story of a man who experienced a similar yet, unusual journey. Mr Mike was a worker who worked for a company since he was 17 years of age. He never had an opportunity of acquiring any formal education so he ventured in minimal jobs so as to make daily bread. At the age of 22, Mike got employed into a reputation company who considered their worker's Comfortability a priority. To add to this, the company bought a bus which would always go around picking workers from home to their work place.

Mike working in this company for 29 years with the same bus, same route and same driver makes the journey a well familiarized one to him. In my opinion, I feel that he knew and understood this journey better than everything else. Nothing exciting, nor surprising would ever hit him since the bus, the road and the driver knew him well. Another exciting thing about mike was the fact that he had tasted all the seats position and had even helped the driver in driving though just once.

Mr. Mike had a terrible incident that changed everything about him. Just 2 years before retirement, Mr. Mike received a query of a missing Company's property and sadly enough, it was kept under his care for the past 20 years. To be precised, it was the company's motorcycle that was given to him immediately he started working for the company. Mike used this Motorcycle in transporting himself to the working venue until the arrival of the company's coaster bus.

The Arrival of the company's coaster bus made Mr. Mike to park the company's motorcycle since it was more convenient using the company's coaster bus. After 5 years of parking the motorcycle, Mr. Mike thought of a better way to utilize the motorcycle bearing in mind that it is the company's waste property. He probably might have assumed that the company was no longer interested on the old motorcycle. Instead of returning the motorcycle to the company, Mr. Mike rented it out to a commercial cyclist who paid him on a weekly basis.

One sad day, the cyclist returned but the bike was no where to be found. He explained how armed robbers attached him and took away the bike and he narrowly escaped. Though the story was quiet pathetic, to Mr. Mike it was a weird story. How would I explain this to my company, should I run away from the company, could this be a dream? All these ran through Mr. Mike's mind untill he concluded that the Bike was only the company's wasted property that was abandoned under his care.

Life continued smoothly with until this day that the query came. Mr. Mike was unable to work all through the day for he knew that the motorcycle which qas under his care was no longer under his care. He thought of how and where to raise the money so as to buy a new motorcycle for the company and save himself of getting fired 2 years before retirement. Of course, getting fired means he would be able to gain all the benefits accompanied with retirement. He thought of going back to the cyclist who lost the bike years back .

Mr. Mike said to himself, I will go meet the cyclist so we both could raise money and purchase the bike before going back to respond to my query tomorrow. Upon reaching the cyclist house, it was announced that the cyclist died years back. Mr Mike became highly frustrated and wept bitterly.

The image above is the picture of Mr. Mike sitting on a Similar Yet, Unusual Journey. It was a similar journey because he has been using the bus, the route and the driver for over 30 years. However, it is an unusual journey because he was journeying to respond to a query that was going to terminate his services for the company and not to work for the company as usual. He sat down at the back of bus, frustrated and thinking deep. He regretted using the company's property for his personal business and for hiding the missing items for years. He sat back unrelaxed and disturbed on what the future holds for him. He thought of life after being fired, the shame and frustration that was to befall on him made him so loose while going to work this very day.

I invite @alexanderpeace, @basil20, @bossj23 and @dwings to join the contest.

Thanks so much for Reading my story and I hope we will avoid making similar mistakes Mr. Mike did.
