Good day everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I am excited to be a member of steemit. My write-up today is about the benefits of agriculture.
Agriculture can be defined as the method of cultivating crops and rearing of farm animals for man's consumption. It is also one of the means by which the government of any country that is serious about feeding its populace and ranking in foreign exchange can improve the living standard of its people as well as generating revenue.
Obviously, there is a lot to benefits in agriculture. The first major benefit of agriculture to the people is the availability of cheap and quality food for nations. Interest in agriculture generates adequate production of food in large quantities. This means, planting of crops for the preparation of the harvesting season in which the crops will mature. By this, the rate of malnutrition and acute poverty will be reduced in the nation.
Another benefit derived from agriculture is that, there will be a huge amount of money generated as revenue from the sales of agricultural produce and even through exportation. This means that government has a large percentage in the benefit of agriculture especially in African countries because most of the crops that are refined from plantation into finished product generates revenue for the government through importation and exportation.
Furthermore, agricultural sector being the type that requires a large labour force can also help to create employment for the large number of unemployed citizens in a country. Since agriculture provides cheap food and employment, then the high rate of crimes in our society will be reduced. This means, they will be abundant food for people, employment opportunities,etc.
In conclusion, agriculture can help to improve other sectors of the economy. This will go a long way in developing the economy. Agriculture should be put into practice by different nations in the world.
