Hi Everyone🍋

I hope you’re all doing well in the autumn 🤗 Because of being in Mexico, I experience summer in autumn so I'm staying hydrated in this hot weather. It’s been an adventure filled with beach walks, delicious food, and moments 🌴

It was one of those days where the sun seems to wrap you in a big, warm hug which is amazing but, also…WOW, it gets hot here 😅

I sometimes get bored to drink regular water so there is another healthy option: something so simple and incredibly refreshing: Mineral spring water with lime 🍋

The first sip? Instant refreshment. It felt like my body was just thanking me🥰 The combination of the natural bubbles from the mineral water and the lime is absolute perfection. It’s light, and makes you feel fresh. Plus, it’s super easy to make at home 🤗

Cold mineral spring water (I found a local brand that’s packed with minerals, but you can use your favorite one)
Fresh lime (I usually use half of a small one per glass)
It would be great to add a sprig of mint but I didn't have it🥲

Fill your glass with chilled mineral spring water
Squeeze in half of lime 🍹

Not only this drink hydrate and cool me down instantly, but the natural minerals in the water give it a slightly richer taste than regular water, and the lime adds just the right amount of tanginess without being overpowering 😋

Plus, it’s the perfect way to feel a little fancy without much effort 😍

I hope you all enjoyed reading my post ✨
Thank you 🍀

A bit off topic, but how safe is it for a woman to go on vacation alone in Mexico? I hope no one gets offended by this question if a local sees it, we've seen too many American movies. Because it seems that in Western Europe it is not so much anymore. Also, I keep reading information from Latin Americans traveling in Europe how amazed they are by the crime rate on the continent, they say it's higher than in their countries lol.

I can't speak specifically about Mexico, but this concern seems to apply to many 'third-world' and 'developing' countries. I can relate because I’m from a similar country, Pakistan. A lot of people are worried about traveling solo, especially as women in Pakistan.

The main culprit here is the media. If you tune into networks like Fox News, all you hear and read about are random bombings, thefts, abductions, etc., in other countries. But when you visit these places, the reality is often very different. We have SO many solo female travelers in Pakistan that it's astonishing.

A very good friend of mine, Claire, who’s from the U.S., visited Pakistan last year, and she never left. She fell in love—both with the country and its people. She’s now married and living a peaceful, happy life in Chitral, Pakistan. Being a travel enthusiast and staying up-to-date with this community, I've met lots of foreign solo travelers, especially from Europe.

In November, another friend of mine from Poland will be visiting Pakistan. I’ll host her in Karachi and then, hopefully, join her for the rest of the trip up north.

We really need to disregard what the media portrays. I know this comment was originally about Mexico, but I resonated with it as a Pakistani. :')

I know this comment was originally about Mexico

Any personal information is important, regardless of the location. The key here is the word "information". You are right about the media, they are focused on bad accidents, disasters and death. If a person reads them constantly, he will not want to leave the house. I think that's the case with Mexico travel as well. Some places are also deliberately "vilified" as well, for one reason or another. But I happened to join a community of backpackers traveling in Europe. At first I thought they were Spaniards, then it turned out they were Latin Americans, and they recounted every day various mishaps in their travels in the large cities of Western Europe, warning everyone to be very careful, because crime is very high, also increased due to the constant flow of illegal immigrants with dubious backgrounds. This is very interesting - seeing how people from other continents perceive the continent you live in is always very interesting.🙃

Indeed. One cannot get to know the reality untill he faces it himself. Where are you from?

I am from Bulgaria. This is not Western, but Eastern Europe. But even though it's the poorest country in the EU, given what I've read about big western cities, I can't judge the level of crime here anymore. Maybe because we don't have that many illegal immigrants. They are not stupid. 😂No one wants to stay long in a doomed country like this.

I think this question is pretty important, thanks for asking 😊

Mexico is a big country and safety can vary depending on where you go. I’m currently in Zihua and I can honestly say I’ve felt very safe here. The locals are friendly and I haven’t had any dangerous situations.

Of course, as with any destination, it’s important to stay aware of your surroundings and take common precautions (for example, I’ve picked up is greeting people in Spanish, like saying "hola" or "buen día." It’s something locals do so it can show you visit there more often maybe instead of first time visit The other my clue is that sticking to well lit areas, avoiding wandering alone late at night), but I’ve had nothing but positive experiences here.

Just like anywhere, some areas are safer than others, so it's good to research the specific region you're visiting. Also in my opinion, touristic places tend to be safer compared to more remote or less-visited areas.

And I wanna share an information that Zihua has a stronger police presence, whenever I take a tour in the town, I see police cars so I think safety measures are prioritized to ensure tourism thrives.

In my experience, Zihua has been a lovely, peaceful spot😊

it can show you visit there more often

This is exactly what I read recently - you should not show that you have just arrived or that you are lost. Then you're doomed.😂
As I already wrote, I read about opposite cases - Latin Americans traveling around Europe, and I was really shocked by their experiences in the big European cities. But I finally read this: the difference between crime in Latin America and Europe is that in Latin America you have armed people attacking you, and in Europe you're dealing mainly with pickpockets and credit/debit card scammers.

Anyway, I'm glad you're feeling well and safe! The presence of police also definitely helps for that feeling.
Enjoy your vacation!🥰

Yes, you're right 😄 Maybe better way to have a more proper idea about security of the area to talk with locals like you. Thank you for your good wishes 🤗

Is it already summer in Mexico? Here in Thailand, it’s still the rainy season until the middle of next month, after which the hot season begins. We only have two seasons here—rainy and hot 🌸

Actually, it is summer to me 😄 they say that rainy season just finished here so dry season has started so it is still hot.

It's November here in Karachi. Whilst the rest of the country is enjoying winters, we're here suffering in extreme heat stroke with temperature rising as high as 40°c. A bit of rain here would calm things down.

I am sure the fresh lime did hydrate you and energize you up. With the similar heat here, I could do with a bit of fresh lime and cold water lol

Yes, it really helps to feel fresh. Lime is so common in Mexico but you can try it with lemon as well.
