В начале мая мы с подругой побывали в короткой поездке в Костромской области. Базировались мы в городе Галич. Это довольно древний город, с 12 века решающий вопросы защиты русских земель. Здесь в разные времена строились крепости. Для последней из них в XV-XVI веках были построены земляные валы. Время прошло, на месте крепостей не осталось строений, лишь ведутся раскопки. Но земляные валы сохранились.	In early May, my friend and I went on a short trip to the Kostroma region. We were based in the city of Galich. This is a rather ancient city, which has been deciding the issues of protecting Russian lands since the 12th century. Fortresses were built here at different times. For the last of them, earthen ramparts were built in the 15th-16th centuries. Time has passed, there are no buildings left on the site of the fortresses, only excavations are underway. But the earthen ramparts have been preserved.
Уже к XVIII веку они утратили военное значение и стали местом прогулок горожан.	By the 18th century, they had lost their military significance and became a place for walks of the townspeople.
Мы также прогулялись по этим валам. Была прекрасная весенняя погода и мы полюбовались видами на улицы города вокруг.	We also walked along these ramparts. It was beautiful spring weather and we admired the views of the streets of the city around.

Когда-то земляные валы были окружены рвами с водой. В XIX веке эти рвы превратились в два длинных пруда. Пруды украшают город и ваше время. Вокруг проложены дорожки для прогулок.

Once upon a time, earthen ramparts were surrounded by ditches with water. In the 19th century, these ditches turned into two long ponds. Ponds decorate the city and your time. Walking paths are laid around.

В Галиче на многих улицах сохранилась городская застройка XIX, начала XX веков. Это и деревянные дома и каменные дворянские и купеческие особняки.

In Galich, on many streets, urban buildings of the 19th and early 20th centuries have been preserved. These are wooden houses and stone noble and merchant mansions.

Есть много домов с интересной архитектурой. Вот, например, виднеется деревянный дом с синими наличниками. Это жилой дом Богомолова, построенный в стиле модерн в начале XX века. К сожалению, его состояние на данный момент оставляет желать лучшего.

There are many houses with interesting architecture. Here, for example, you can see a wooden house with blue architraves. This is the residential building of Bogomolov, built in the Art Nouveau style at the beginning of the 20th century. Unfortunately, his current condition leaves much to be desired.
