How can a photographer understand that he has changed his creative wave? First, your preferences in the scenes you shoot will change. Secondly, if you look at the pictures of other photographers that you did not understand, then you will start to see something interesting in them. And if you do not like looking at other people's work at all, then reconsider yours: when you change the creative wave, you will notice that you have ceased to like some photographs and have begun to like others.
But if your preferences have not changed for many years, then you are marking time in one place. Although photographers sometimes develop one genre to perfection.
Therefore, I always tell all photographers - in any case, do not delete your pictures if you think they are bad! The time will come when you will consider them good.
But the selection still has certain conditions. The main thing is to be sure that the picture is not aesthetic and never will be.
Also, if the picture does not represent any documentary value, then it can be safely removed.
I wonder if shooting courtyards is related to street photography?
In street photography, the main principle is "here and now", which in life is called awareness.
When shooting courtyards, I follow the same principle.
But street photography always captures a moment that is hundredths, and sometimes thousandths of a second.
When shooting courtyards, the shutter speed reaches 30 seconds.
It turns out that I shoot not a moment, but a period of time, during which very often there is a change in lighting or even a part of the surrounding reality.
It happens that a car suddenly drives into the yard, it happens that a person with a flashlight passes by, it happens that the streetlight suddenly turns off...
Anything can happen in a few seconds.
Here we already decide whether to accept the resulting result or to consider the frame damaged.
Someone once wrote to me in a commentary that I, like a maniac, study something every day, sort through each picture or genre.
Now can you imagine how many thoughts I have every day in my head?
And this, like the pictures, is also a selection. If I wrote in general everything that comes into my head, then I would have had zero subscribers for a long time.
I have to sort my thoughts and choose from them the most adequate and adapted for all strata of society.
