Fifay Travels: Lake Wanaka, New Zealand

On our visit in South Island of New Zealand, another must-go-to place is the famous Lake Wanaka.

Wanaka came from a Maori word “oanaka” meaning “place of anaka”, known to be an early Maori Chief.

This is Lake Wanaka and it’s outstanding beauty.

We went there during Spring time, the perfect season to visit such wonderful place.

Here are yellow flowers blossoming around the area and from a far you can see the majestic beauty of Southern Alps.

Another iconic scenic is the Wanaka Tree — it’s a crack willow tree known to symbolize hope, it stands in the clear water of Wanaka Lake.

Many photographers and tourists around the world make sure to shot this famous tree.
Unfortunately, I was not able to shot this tree alone since it quite far from where we stayed. However, I had it as my background. Here it is.. just look further at the right back area of the photo 😅

With it’s clear and cold water, there are also ducks having a really good time roaming around the lake. It’s really wonderful to see such amazing creatures.
