Well, well, well. A record number of positive Covid cases in the English Premier League saw 3 midweek fixtures called off and things are looking bad for the weekend's fixtures too. The Premier League are saying that matches will continue where they can but we're all wondering if they can with very few teams avoiding the mayhem.

Speaking of mayhem, with the busy Christmas period now upon us, I'm going to focus my updates on the leagues that we have weekly prizes for so that I can enjoy this festive period 🍻

Gameweek 17 Round-Up

Few will have avoided the postponements with Burnley v. Watford and Leicester v. Spurs getting called off well after the Gameweek deadline. Burnley's game called off just 2 hours before kick off with Watford being unable to field a full team. This made Gameweek 17 the lowest scoring Gameweek so far this season with an average score of just 45 - if you scored higher than this, you can consider it a decent week.

Sez Fc 2.0 (simon o joseph) played his triple-captain on Trent Alexander-Arnold which is nothing short of madness but Trent paid him back with a goal and 3 point bonus which was trebled to 33. I have no idea who this crazy guy is so it was once again @captain36 who scored 76 points with this team...

Despite only being able to field 10 players, in a Gameweek where many only had 8 or 9 (and in my case, 2 players who returned 0 points) this was more than enough. I think many of us will be happy with 10 starters this weekend.

Overall Ranking

This brings @captain36 right back into contention again, moving up to 2nd place overall and just 2 points behind @the-gorilla who has moved into 1st place. @arahman is still sitting 6th which is still 3rd for the overall prizes.

Head-to-Head League

With our runaway head-to-head leader @captain36 top scoring in the overall league, it's no surprise to see that he won his head-to-head match. @the-gorilla and @chenty both won their matches to keep the pressure on @captain36 at the top.
