This song is from around the end of the sixties, I was a child back then, but I really used to like this song. Years later when I found out what the Age of Aquarius was expected to be, I thought that then I knew why this song made me feel good. An age of sympathy and understanding, when humans love each other, no more wars, crime on the decline and as time passed we would be nearer to Utopia, a nearly perfect human kind. I really believed this would happen, but as it would be in the beginnings or mid twenty first century I would probably not be able to see it.
Alas, I think the timing is off, we are already in the age of Aquarius and I think for humans and our Earth things have gotten worse instead of improving. By now, if the idea of an age of Aquarius is real we should be seeing changes. I really don't see these changes, or perhaps we are just experiencing the chaos that comes before the calm, and we will get to see better times.
I guess December turns me into a philosopher, someone who thinks things can improve, perhaps they won't, but we lose nothing by having positive expectations. Let's hope Aquarius does come, and it brings a higher human conscience along with it.
