WOX TRAVEL CONTEST | WEEK 5

in hive-185836 •  last year

During the summer, most of July and August to be precise I spent a few weeeks in New Orleans, Louisiana, and managed to take a few photographs. Actually the city center is a very nice place and I had a good time, even though I didn't do much walking. I think by myself I would be lost in mosrts of USA, as I don't drive cars. But I did manage a few things, like cross the Mississippi river on a ferry, go through the bayou country, and of course visit the French Quarter. I must admit I never went out at night. that is one of the things that surprised me, sunset was way after eight p.m.. Yes, I know it was dayllight saving time, still, here in Honduras by six thirty, on the longest day, it is already night. So I will just show you a few pictures of what I saw.

These I took while crossing the river on a ferry.

This one really surprised me, it is the largest ship I have ever seen, about 1,000 ft in lentgh and can carry over 9,000 TEU's, and I saw it on a river.

These are of course, pictures of the French Quarter, the most iconic part of New Orleans.

And of course, these are pictures of the Super Dome and the area around it, including the basketball arena where the NO Pelicans play. I did not go to the Super Dome, I do not understand American Football, so I saw no sense in it, even though the place I was staying at is a very Saints fan house.
