Tapak liman the name for this plant, scientific name Elephantophus Scaber Linn, is one of the medicinal plants.
Tapak liman (Elephantopus scaber) is an upright herb originating from tropical America, which is now easily found in many countries in Asia and Polynesia. This plant can be used as a medicine for diarrhea, but the Gayo people (called lape-lape tanah) use this as a medicine to treat dysentery.

Tapak liman grows wild, sometimes found in large numbers on grassy fields, roadsides, or embankments. The trunk is short and stiff, 30-60 cm high, with coarse hair. The leaves are dark green. The flowers are hump shape, at the end of the stem, the color is purple. This flower blooms at noon around 1pm and closes again in the afternoon. The fruit is a hard, hairy, black avalanche fruit. The roots of the taproot are large, white in color.

Properties and Benefits:

The taste is slightly bitter, spicy, it is cool, astringent. The herb tapak liman is used to treat influenza, fever, sore throat, whooping cough (pertussis), eye inflammation, canker sores, abscesses, inflammation of the brain (epidemic encephalitis B). Inflammation of the acute and chronic kidneys, gonorrhea (acute gonorrhea), inflammation of the uterus, vaginal discharge, lack of blood (anemia), water edema (ascites), body swelling (beriberi), diarrhea, dysentery, flatulence, stimulating sexual arousal (aphrodisiac ), and was bitten by a snake. Tapak liman root is used to treat inflammation of the liver (hepatitis), facilitate labor, postpartum care, and fever in malaria.

How to use :

For drugs taken, boil 15-30 grams / 1 handful of dry liman tread herb or 2 wet hands.

For external use, use the boiled water to soak hemorrhoids and rough and cracked feet, and compress the boils.
Another way, use the collision of the leaves as a poultice on the stomach of people with fever.
