Hello steemit friends back again with me @girls-steem .
In today's post I'm back in the contest held by @sultan-aceh, namely CONTEST MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY.
My post this time is still about insects.Today I'm going to show you one of the pictures I took using macro photography techniques.
SMALL MONSTER (Thorn-hopper), this little insect has a scary face. This little monster is a species of Treehoppers or leafhoppers.
Tree leafhoppers and thorn insects are members of the Membracidae family, a group of insects related to crickets and leafhoppers. There are about 3,200 species of treehoppers in more than 600 genera. They are found on all continents except Antarctica, although there are only three species in Europe. They can be found from early May to early August. Both males and females can produce sounds and they can jump as orthoptera.
This planthopper inhabits forests, rows of plants and areas that are quite humid or dry. They are noted for their enlarged and ornate pronotums, which most often resemble spines, apparently to aid camouflage. But in some species, the prontoum grows elongated like a horn, and even more bizarre and inexplicable shapes are found.
That's my post this time, thank you for visiting my block
