the beauty of the weed flower

On the occasion of this evening I would like to share a photo of a weed flower
which I found on my home page.
Diodella teres is a flowering plant in the coffee family known as poorjoe or rough buttonweed. This perennial plant is native to Mexico, Central America, South America, the West Indies, and the southern United States from California to Florida and most of central and northeastern America from Kansas to Michigan to Massachusetts. This species is also naturalized in the Netherlands, Canary Islands, West Africa, Angola, China, Japan and Korea, India, and Madagascar.
Diodella teres has thin, erect or sparse stems up to 65 cm in height. It has opposite leaves that are stiff, dark green, elliptical, pointed, and rough textured, up to 3 cm long. Each pair of leaves picks a flower at the base. The small white to pinkish-purple flowers have four stiff, petal-like lobes up to 12 mm long and 10 mm wide.
Requiring full sun, its habitat includes upland grasslands that have sparse vegetation, hillside meadows, deserts, rocky valleys, gravel stalks along rivers, trails with solid soil, gravel areas along roadsides, and barren soils. .

dry conditions, and poor soils containing large amounts of sand, gravel, or dense clay, with a history of such disturbances are preferred by this plant.
Drought tolerance is quite good due to its long taproot.
The bloom period occurs from mid-summer to early autumn, lasting about 1-2 months. There is no striking floral scent. After that, the flowers are replaced by dry fruits (schizocarps) which are obovoid in shape with persistent sepal remnants at the apex.
