Hello everyone,
Good morning to you all. I bring to you my recent drawing which is a drawing of a dark skinned boy. This morning I made the drawing using black charcoal pencil only and I didn't blend it at all which is something I've never done.
Normally I sketch using other pencils and I shade with charcoal dust. This is because once you shade a particular place with generals charcoal pencil, it stays and no way you can blend it to be smooth. It is more advisable to build layers using charcoal dust or graphite pencils. I only apply the charcoal pencil on darkest places and most times I shade to blend but this morning I just went ahead and draw with it straight away using the old fashioned way. The reason is because I'm curious to see how it will turn out and after drawing, my curiosity was satisfied. I'll say I like the way the roughness brings out the drawing. I got my reference photo here
MATERIALS USED
- Black charcoal pencil
- HB pencil
- Alabaster paper
Interesting emotion. Perfect!
