Hello xpilars, today I decided to make this random drawing which has been on my mind for some days now, I am glad I had the chance to finish it up today. Below I will be sharing my progress shots and also the shading technique I used in achieving this work.

While shading I also pay close attention to Tonal gradation

▪️ Tonal Gradation:

A tonal gradation is defined as value steps going from light to dark or dark to light. You can read more on it through the link below 👇

Here is an exemplary sketch of tonal gradation, this idea will help you improve your shading skills.

Below are my progress shots

Progress shots

This stage was just an overall sketch of what I wanted to draw, it was more like the frame work before shading.

I started up with the hair, hair plays and integral part in a portrait drawing so I decided to start with one of the most difficult part, just this hair alone took me almost 10 minute to blend and also shade.

After shading the hair I went straight into the forehead and some other part of the face, the reason why I started from top down to bottom is because I don’t want to start shading randomly, because when you do that it make your hand get stained by charcoal, and that can stain other parts of your paper.

Here is the final outlook I hope you all like it 🙏🙌🏾

Please do not tag @steemcurator01 unnecessarily.

Please I didn’t mean to disturb you but I’m pleading 🥺 so I can make use of the steemitexclusive tag, I made a mistake in the past and you said I shouldn’t be using the tag because of the mistake I did uploading my content both on steemit and hive. Trust me it was out of ignorance I don’t want to break any rules because this platform has been helpful to my Art. I really hope to get a reply from you and anything you say I will accept it with good faith.

If you make a post that is exclusive to Steem then you can use the #steemexclusive tag.

Thanks so much I am grateful 🙏🙌🏾
