If we want a break from the normal routine and to be relaxed, one option is to stay at a hotel. I prefer more greeny and isolated hotels rather than hotels around cities.
Amaya Lake hotel is a wonderful place situated a few miles away from the ancient Dambulla kingdom. It faces Kandalama lake and is surrounded by lots of trees.
We have to stay at lodges which sparse from each other. Even the hotel is situated in the dry zone, the hotel premise is very cool and always a breeze flows through the lake.
Small animals roam around there and sometimes giant elephants come to drink water from the lake. I must say it's a leisure land rather than calling a hotel.

Location in a residential hotel in the midst of open nature, can give a taste of nature. It could be a new experience. Scenes of beautiful surroundings fascinate me.
