EXPLORING THE COUNTRYSIDE

Most of people spending their 9-5 jobs, almost 5 days a week are living in the big cities. They could be local citizens or the ones moving from countryside who go there for studying and working.
If we live in the big cities, we know that we'd love to get out of the cities for sometimes to relax or get some fresh-air. So, why don't we choose to travel back the countryside to figure out the culture and food.

Food is one of the interesting culture in the countryside The fact is you can easy get many kind of dishes in cities, including the popular cuisines which are from a specular province or it's countryside. But, to be truth is that is so special if you can try the specific food right at the places you travel to. You can also watch if the local make the dishes.

Daily life of local people It's so lovely when you can see and feel how the local spending their day time, to compare with the life time in the big cities where are so much rush and noisy when you even have no time to breathe. The people in the countryside who live on their fruit farms or rice fields. They almost spend all their time on the field by starting the day so early in the morning and go back home at any time they finish their work.

The fresh air in the countryside is another best thing you will have if you spend your time there. Unlike the cities, you can totally smell the different at the minute you leave the cities. You can feel it even more when you get to the highlands or the beaches and the other countryside.

AGRICULTURE - PADDY FIELDS & RICE FIELDS

People who live in the countryside can grow many different kind of fruits or corns or any other agriculture products, however, rice is the most popular one they grow in Mekong Delta. That's specially in Vietnam and other Indochina countries.

Rice fields from those countries provide most of rice for the world. Thanks for the nature has given these countries a best condition to grow rice by Mekong River. People who live along this river has known how to cultivate on wet rice farm for a long long time.

Wet rice cultivation is not simple or easy which is taken a long time to harvest. It's around 3-4 months from the seeding to harvesting's. While the farmers spend so much time and hard work on the field, under the sunshine but they are almost not earning much because of the low price of rice.

I took these photos when I have a chance to visit Ba Hon, Kien Giang province in a few years ago. I stayed at my friend house and he took me out to the fields near his village where all the farms were almost to harvest.
