Hi friends!

I am a Chilean-Belgian painter. Chile is my birthland but I also lived for many years in Belgium, the land of my great-grandparents. Now I am in Spain, I like where I living, but I miss Brussels often.

Since I met WOX I have not ceased to be always pleasantly impressed by the valuable work carried out by those who lead this community, you can really perceive the great dedication and seriousness with which they take care of maintaining an intense and friendly daily activity.

At WOX one always finds more and more interesting and high-quality topics, thanks to the serious and honest conduction that their leaders have been able to apply, exercising a great curate work that they carry out always giving a friendly and pleasant reply.

I also find it remarkable the hard, courageous, and thankless work of detecting and reporting plagiarism or falsehood in publications, which undoubtedly leads to an increase in the valuation and recognition of WOX and of all its members and even beyond, of the entire Steem community.

And as if this were not enough, in addition, interesting contests are constantly being created that stimulate participation and creativity along with giving us the possibility of knowing more and better publications within the field of art, travel, photography, nature, animals, and more.

I am very happy and grateful to have the opportunity to belong to this community and I hope to be contributing in a good way to it.
For all those reasons and more, I'm sure WOX deserves to be selected from the Community of the Month.

Have a very nice weekend!!

Hi Jorge,

Thank you for taking time and for such nice post. I can imagine that after spending years in Belgium you definitely will be missing it. Do you travel often there? Are there any of your family members?

I have never been to Belgium but I really love the movie "In Burges", if you have not seen I have little info from Wikipedia about it:

"In Bruges is a 2008 black comedy crime film written and directed by Martin McDonagh in his feature-length debut. The film stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson as two Irish hitmen in hiding, with Ralph Fiennes as their enraged boss. The film is set and was filmed in Bruges, Belgium."

It is always great to read such personal impression like you put together and not a standard words, that sometimes we use, when we are in a hurry. I am glad that you are a member of our community and we always keep an eye on such valuable members :)

Hi @stef1, sorry, sorry for the delay. I forgot to answer your kind comment and your friendly interest in knowing something more about me.
I often miss Belgium, especially because of the cultural and polyglot atmosphere present everywhere. The Brussels Metro is really a "Tower of Babel".
My goal was to reach Belgium after visiting my son who was in Spain at the time, but I arrived in Madrid the same day the borders were closed due to the pandemic. Suddenly, I found myself confined in Spain. The days, the months passed and soon it will be two years that I'm here. In the meantime, I rented a house in a very beautiful place, in a small "white town" located on the top of some hills in Málaga, which has allowed me to spend pleasant moments, enjoy a wonderful climate, and above all enjoy of silence and solitude.
It is a long story but in short, all I had planing are drastically changed because of the pandemic. Art galleries were closed, Art Academies too, so suddenly I found myself deepening my knowledge of digital art (full time) to enter the digital online art market. They have been months of intense study, which makes me happy although I still don't know if everything that has happened has favored or harmed me. I have no answer for it.
My oldest son returned to Chile for now (great difficulties to enter). My second son lives in Belgium, he had plans to celebrate his marriage in Croatia but it has already been postponed twice because of the covid, we will see what happens next year.
I have not seen the film "In Bruges" but if Ralph Fiennes plays a role in it, it's sure a good film.
I have been to Bruges many times, it is a beautiful city, people say that there it is the best-preserved medieval quarter in all of Europe.
It is mandatory for every tourist in Belgium to visit Bruges, so every time we received visitors we had to show it to them.
I have watched the trailer thanks to your mention. See the clock tower brought me back many nice memories (being there and not going up is inconceivable). There is also a fantastic Dali museum next to the clock tower.
I will try to see the film soon.

Regards.
