Hello Steemians, I am @jpegg from the North Venice. I hope you all doing fine on this Saturday morning, my friends, I wish you a great weekend.
Today I invite you to get acquainted with the beautiful city of St.Petersburg, Russia (also called 'the North Venice'), where I am happy to live in. It has roads, channels, tramlines, markets, playing grounds, sports arenas, nice architecture in historical center of the city and of course a lot of folks at the streets. A lot of intresting stuff your camera can see. Let's start!
One of the many local parks. St. Petersburg is a very green city, it has many parks where citizens can take a walk and rest their eyes from asphalt, glass and concrete, lie down on the grass and enjoy the water, greenery and flowers.
Common folks, nothing so special about them. None of them posing me - I used a hidden camera on them. (Ok, just kidding! -- it was a decent decent big black DSL camera, as usual.)
In primary school, we learned at the English lessons that London is the city of fogs; it may be said that St.Petersburg is the city of rains. Rains are pretty frequent here - there are an average of 62 sunny days in St. Petersburg per year.
One of the beautiful bridges across the Moyka river.
Highly suitable for taking selfies... and a lot of other things, like gazing at the cityscapes or other pedestrians, checking the weather, enjoying ice-cream, beer or other drinks.
There is a lot of art on the streets; St.Petersburg is known as the 'cultural capitol' of Russia. As it was the head of Russian empire and imperial residence for 200 years, it have got a lot of various palaces and museums, it is very tourist-oriented and attractive. Art dealers and street painters consider those city visitors as their main 'target market'.
This is how a playing ground for kids looks like inside the yards.
Hot summer in the city. Kids taking a bath in the city fountains.
At the greenery market. During the last 50 years it did not changed too much. Wooden boxes with vegetables and fruits, rogue sellers strive to show the product in the most favorable light in the makeshift displays, and buyers resist as much as they can to buy stale goods that will soon deteriorate!
Birdies. The city has a lot of feathered life on the streets that you can enjoy in one or another way. I cannot but shoot pigeons all of the time, -- as they are as numerous and inevitable residents of the city as humans, hehe.
Beautiful girl at the door of a residential building. A real Princess castle made from plastic... mixed up with a pipes and ladders labyrinth. Kids aint gonna be bored at a place like this!
Time to say good-bye! One cannot fit unfittable (i.e. into ten images selection). So, see you next time!
Хех, отвык я за неделю от большого города ))
