The Dragon Caves "Cuevas del Drach" on Mallorca exceeded all my expectations. I didn’t expect much when I decided to visit, thinking it was just clever advertising. Walking in, I was utterly captivated. The glowing red stalactites and stalagmites looked as if they were from another dimension.
Further in, the turquoise water sparkled under the lights. The color of the water is so beautiful that if you want to practice blue mind, you can step away from the group for a moment and indulge in contemplation. The photos describe it better than my words!
The caves are steeped in history, with stories dating back to the Middle Ages. It’s said that pirates and Templars entrusted their treasures to a dragon here.
Inside, visitors can enjoy countless stalactites and stalagmites, pleasant temperatures, and live music. The cave was first mentioned in a written document in 1338, in a letter to the mayor of Manacor.
However, its real exploration began in 1880 when German soldier and entomologist Friedrich Will studied it at the invitation of Austrian Archduke Ludwig Salvator. The caves are 1,200 meters long and reach 25 meters deep, with a steady temperature of 20°C. Lake Martel, at the bottom, is 177 meters long and one of the largest underground lakes in the world. The limestone formations grow very slowly - just 0.2 to 1.6 millimeters per year.
I'm sure this is a place that everyone would enjoy. There's no way anyone could say it was unpleasant - it's simply impossible! The experience is magical! The entrance fee for the visit is 17 euros, and I recommend buying tickets online to avoid the queues. There are quite a few people wanting to visit the cave.

Oh what a beautiful reminder, we´ve had the pleasure to visit this lovely place nearly 11 years ago in our holidays over there. We´ve seen many caves in Europe but like you captured it with your pictures it´s one of the most spectacular caves we ever seen of.
So thanks a lot for sharing your photos and refreshing my memories of that beautiful place ;)
