This weekend, I walked around my neighborhood with my camera trying to take some good shots. I found a Christmas flower that was about to die. I realized its red leaves were falling to the ground. I researched more about this flower, and I found interesting information about it.

• It's from Mexico and Central America, and it's not only an exotic plant but also is a universal reference for Christmas.
• It was an important plant for Aztecs. They cultivated it for its medicinal properties, and because they considered it a symbol of purity.
• Its leaves are green throughout the year, and they turn into red tones only in winter.

Este fin de semana, estaba caminando alrededor de mi barrio con mi cámara para hacer algunas tomas. Encontré una planta muy peculiar, la llaman "Flor de Pascua" y estaba muriendo, sus hojas estaban cayendo al suelo. Busqué más acerca de esta flor y encontré interesante información sobre ella.

• Es originaria de México y Centro América y no es solo una planta exótica, es un referente universal de la Navidad.
• Fue una planta muy importante para los Aztecas. Ellos lo cultivaron por sus prpiedades medicinales, y lo consideraron un símbolo de pureza.
• Sus hojas son verdes durante todo el año y se vuelven rojas solo en invierno.
