Trip around Balakovo

I haven't been active on Steam for a long time, but @lllll1ll's tempting invitation to participate in the "HIGHWAY" competition could not be ignored.

This is a small part of our May trip through the spring Balakovo, in which there are a lot of photos. Go. The weather is sunny, cool +13, the city has turned green and blossomed.

We turn to Lenina Street, where chestnuts are blooming - beautiful sprawling trees that delight the eye with their flowers, collected in large inflorescences, like candles.

This is not the central part of Lenin Street, this is the part leading to the beginning of the street, where there are many historical buildings. Some of the buildings have been restored, and some are waiting in line.

It is not only an architectural monument and a museum complex, but also a small concert venue of the Municipal Autonomous Institution of Culture "Concert Organization" of the City Center for the Arts. M. E. Syropova". Excursions, historical quests, solemn and chamber events, photo shoots and various creative events are held here.

It was built in 1910-1912 at the expense of the Balakovo philanthropist I. V. Kobzar. It was considered one of the most modern in terms of equipment, thanks to the connections of the founder.

This was Balakov's first educational institution, which provided secondary education, and both boys and girls studied in it, which was a rarity in pre-revolutionary Russia.

In the prewar years, a secondary school operated in the former commercial school, during the war German prisoners were kept here, after the war it was transferred to the River School.

After the abolition of the river school as an independent educational institution, the building was empty, it was looted, but with the support of the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, the building was restored.

Now this is the building of GAPOU SO “Balakovo Industrial and Transport College named after. N.V. Gribanov".
It teaches students navigation. The academic year for future rivermen will begin in September not with the ringing of a bell, but with blows to the bell and the bell ringing of the Holy Trinity Cathedral, which is located nearby across the road.

Orthodox church in the city of Balakovo, Saratov region, the cathedral of the Balakovo diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. The temple is designed for 1200 worshipers.

In Soviet times, the church was converted into household needs. Restored in 1999.
