I aim to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Africa through the timeless beauty of a black African lady adorned in the majestic Gele head tie. This intricate pencil sketch pays homage to the elegance and sophistication that defines African culture.

Inspiration:

The Gele, a traditional head tie, is an iconic symbol of African identity and beauty. I drew inspiration from the vibrant colors, textures, and patterns that adorn African attire, distilling them into a monochromatic masterpiece that highlights the subject's poise and serenity.

Technique:

Using a range of graphite pencils (HB-6B), I employed various techniques to achieve depth, texture, and dimension. Hatching, cross-hatching, and stippling create a captivating play of light and shadow, drawing the viewer's gaze to the subject's radiant face.
