Good morning my art-loving people, happy Monday and I hope you are very well and welcome once again to my blog; today I want to share with you a work that I decided to title: Sandrinna, The Fruit of the Elixir of Eternity. Sandrinna is an ancient creature hybrid between human and reptile which lives in the distant and dangerous mountains of ancient Norway, is a creature that has managed to live for many generations thanks to a very rare fruit known as (Orionnari), this fruit gives youth and health almost eternal, but the cost of eating it is that your body takes a form or appearance very similar to those of snakes or reptiles:

For my drawing I wanted the fruit (Orionnari) to be very present in the illustration, so I decided to draw Sandrinna's character with her hand outstretched and with the fruit in the palm of her hand while she observes it with great attention and desire; for this I had to try several poses and body structures until I reached a sketch that I liked the most. The choice of colors is often difficult and more with characters like this that are fantasy, so I just let my inspiration guide me, for the skin first I used a base color Salmon, for the dress I used a very light violet; and finally for the base of the tunic a navy blue.

The creation of the skin was a hard work and I helped myself a little with the selection tool for the depth shadows and the occlusion shadows, then some light tones without being too white served for the more illuminated areas; the blush on the cheeks is a touch that I always like to add to all the female characters that I draw. For the eyes I thought that a swampy green and other tones like olive would be perfect for my work; I added shape and volume to the eyes and also painted the eyelashes between the eyelids with a very fine brush.

For Sandrinna's clothes I applied some basic drawing principles and created a little volume for the base texture, in this case an antique or medieval clothing texture; then I only added some lines with the watercolor brush for the wrinkles of the clothes. For the cape or tunic that covers it on top I decided to use a little more intense tones with the idea that it would stand out a little more on the whole garment; then for the hair I used some brown tones much darker than the base to try to get a hair with better relief, volume, and basically much more alive and real.

For the final part I only finished some details of the tunic with high glitter to give it a little more elegance and showiness, then I added a kind of golden medallion in which the tunic fastens; after finishing with the most superficial details of the clothes the next thing I had to do was to paint the fruit (Orionnari). I painted the fruit with a super pale orange tone, then I painted some small touches to give the impression that the fruit lacks a big bite, on one side; and finally I painted a somewhat viscous liquid that comes out of the fruit when it is bitten.
