"We are caught inside a mystery, veiled in an enigma, locked inside a riddle."

Photo Contest: Post Processing #24 [ENG/ESP]
A riddle is usually defined as a pastime or game that consists of finding the solution to an enigma or the hidden meaning of a phrase, making use of intuition and reasoning, and not by virtue of possessing certain knowledge.
For this new initiative by @bambuka from the World of Xpilar Community, all participants are asked to select one of their own photographs and process it in such a way that the result is unrecognizable to the rest of the participants, who must guess the object, similar to what was done in Challenge #11. If any person guesses correctly, the hidden content of the image must be revealed.
This time, I chose a photograph I took a couple of years ago, which, according to the instructions in the post, should be based on an "inspirational" motif in a broad sense.
Afterwards, I processed it using the Picsart to modify the original image, for which, I used the "Tiny Planet" filter, which rotates the object in a 360° angle or in the desired amount, creating a circular image. I then applied the "Mirror" filter a couple of times, to multiply by four the number of times the object appears in the graphic composition.
At this point, I found the partial result quite interesting, and somehow, it reminded me of a kaleidoscope, so I decided to increase the chromatic saturation and modify some parameters with the intention of "cleaning" as much as possible the image, without making other changes.
Finally, the resulting image is as follows:
Evidently, no riddle is complete without some clues that may lead to its solution:
- It is an inanimate object, generally of large proportions, which has been practically present since the dawn of mankind, although this one in particular, is of recent date.
- In the Middle Ages, it was of great importance.
- It usually changes its name or denomination, among other reasons,
according to its geographical location, although there is at least one in any population of any continent.
I believe that the information I shared is enough to reveal the true identity of the hidden object. I can only wish you the best of success in this fun initiative.

Just seeing the image makes me think of a shopping mall with a huge glass dome, photographed from above vertically into the centre below.... However, your description leads me to think it's more like a church / mosque / synagogue,...?

It is not a shopping mall, and in fact, it is not photographed from above, but horizontally from the entrance to the center of the building.
But, the second option is correct, it is a catholic church with an unconventional shape. So you got it right.
Congratulations!

the "dome" turned out from twisting and quadrupling. Most likely it is the glazing of one of the walls. I'm leaning towards the mall too :)

It is a roofed place, but it has a very particular and unusual shape: a hyperbolic paraboloid. It is an architectural landmark of my city.

At first glance, it seemed to me like some kind of public place to relax. It is possible that in the original photo we will see a bungalow with an adjacent part of the territory.

It is actually a public space, but more than relaxation, people come to seek solace or peace.

an interesting kaleidoscope turned out. I can't figure out what's below, the tile is shining or the water in the pool/fountain... :)

The tiles are shiny, but it is not a fountain, pool or anything containing water.

I know it's not, @manuelgil64, but I can't help but comment on the first impression to the photographed object.
It gave me the impression of a broad spectrum telescope with wide lenses.
The ribbed tunnel and the greenery on the sides is where the observation is from. These exercises make the imagination soar.
