Crypto-Art between Steem and Instagram

While spending some time in a remote village deep in Orukanam Local Government area of AkwaIbom State in Nigeria, the small village called ikot ukpo is a community made up of farmers and I got there two weeks ago and everyone in the area were getting their farms ready for planting. Seeing the men and women going or coming back from the farm with firewood on the head was a very common sight. Here a special greeting to encourage those going or coming home from the farm is "Warra ooh!" Which when translated will have the flavour or the words Weldon or thumbs up. Often, when coming home from the farm there should be some firewood and some ingredients to spice the days meal.

On the way back from a days work in the farm, two women are neck-deep in a conversation, I can tell by their gestures and facial expressions that the issue they are discussing is of great importance. As we are about to walk pass each other on that narrow path, I said a greeting.
"E Warra ooh!"
And they momentarily interrupts the discussion to reply with the words,
"Warra ooh!"
And back to their conversation while I mentally get a picture of an important aspect of the life and people of
Orukanam.

In this article, I will attempt to freeze and capture a moment in the lives and people of Ikot Ukpo in Orukanam

Needed Items

The following materials were instrumental for making this article possible:

Tools	Qty	Function
An A4 paper	1	used as a canvas,
A Pencil	1	for sketching the framework
An Eraser	1	for cleaning errors
Some Crayons	1 Pack	to apply colour
Nokia C30	1 Pack	for capturing the steps

Procedure

I had to gather all that was needed and placed tham in close proximity. The drawing was done on a hard and flat surface.

Here we have a blank paper with my username towards the top right area of the paper.

Step 1

Using the pencil, a light sketch of the main structure to be used as a guide during the entire process. What we have at this point is mostly the upper body of the first figure.

Zooming for a clearer view

Now the figure has some firewood and a black bag on the head and has also legs.

Step 3

The second figure is now gradually being introduced into the frame. She is putting on an orange coloured blouse.

Step 4

Now you can see the head and arms attached, she is not carrying any visible load.

Conclusion

Here is a single moment that tells the story of the life and people of Ikot Ukpo in Orukanam Local Government area of AkwaIbom State. A community mainly made up of homogenous farmers.
