On the island of Diu I also discovered a memorial dedicated to Gandhi. I like the shawl wrapped around his shoulders and even his ears and the masked guy watching the sea, so I took out the camera.
On our way back to Delhi, we visited the Gandhi museum in Ahmedabad.
The picture of his room shows the famous spinning wheel that became a symbol of peaceful protest. I was impressed by the beautiful spartan furnishing. The whole place has a really tranquil and peaceful atmosphere, which is all the more striking as I experienced Ahmedabad as a very lively, busy and here and there somewhat aggressive city.
Even the chipmunks seem to appreciate the place.
