In need of colours on these gloomy winter days?
For today’s posting I chose a picture of colour pigments, discovered at a market stall in Pushkar, India, and one of a pink sun ball sinking into the Arabian Sea surrounding Diu island. Heart-warming memories of colourful India.

Are these pigments used to dye fabrics?

I don' think so. I suppose these are powdered pigments which in combination with binders can be used to create a variety of paints. Maybe sombody knows more.

Everything is possible :)

In India, yes:-). My friend just told me that they are also used for a technique called Rangoli, the painting of patterns on the floor, and during festivals such as Holi.

Yes, in India they love bright colors and patterns :)
