Hello all ...
This time I want to participate again in the 18th macro photography contest held by Mod WORLD OF XPILAR @sultan-aceh and supported directly by @xpilar.

Today I want to post a photo of an insect that I found in the forests of Aceh, Indonesia. The name of this insect is the Ropalidia.

Ropalidia is a very small paper wasp, averaging less than 10 mm in many species and a slimmer shape. The nesting habits of the various Ropalidia species are equally varied. Some start their own little nests this nest remains small and open, without an outer covering.

Ropalidia nests are not very dangerous if they are small. Wasps usually run away when disturbed. However, when the colony becomes large enough, the wasp can make vicious attacks, and the sting can be very painful, given its small size. But this only happens when the nest is brushed or contacted, the wasps will not usually rush out and attack the people moving around it. Luckily I found this wasp alone in a fairly dense bush.
