Hi everyone,
How’s it going? Feels a bit strange, hahaha.
Back in 2017, during my fifth semester of university, I stumbled upon Steemit. I started from scratch with the account @mydream a name that now seems a little funny looking back, hahaha. I’ve had multiple Steemit accounts over the years, but this one remained intact. I’m not sure why, maybe it’s destiny? And so, here I am, back again with this “destined” account after four years of inactivity.
It feels like a dream to return after such a long time. Steemit wasn’t just a platform to share ideas or articles, or yes, to make some money too (LOL). But it was also like a second home, a family, and a safe haven during my student days. I still remember those late-night brainstorming sessions with my classmates, trying every way possible to build a career and earn money here. Though, let’s be honest, the main goal was the money, hahaha.
My Last Post
But well, life doesn’t always go as planned
Four years ago, I had to make the tough decision to step away from this amazing community that taught me so much about the world of crypto. I graduated and had to start a career. At the time, I thought focusing solely on Steemit wouldn’t sustain me in the long run, especially with age catching up and many of my friends opting to quit and pursue real-world jobs.
Yet, I Never Really Let Go
Even during my busy days working a 12-hour shift a rotation of, 3 days on morning shifts, 3 days on night shifts, and 3 days off, I’d sometimes think about this platform. I’d wonder how Steemit had evolved, what events were trending, and whether I’d ever make my way back here.
And here I am, four years older, hopefully a bit wiser (no guarantees though), and excited to reconnect with the writer in me. If you ask why I decided to come back, it’s because during those long 12-hour night shifts, I often just had to stay on standby. So, with plenty of downtime, I figured I’d give writing another shot here on Steemit partly to keep myself busy and, let’s be honest, to earn a little extra money, hahaha.
This Is Me Now
While writing this first post in years, I can’t help but feel a mix of nostalgia and nervousness. The forum has grown, new names have joined, and some old ones might have moved on. But it’s comforting to see that the spirit of this community is still the same: a place where creativity flourishes and writers support one another.
I’m starting from scratch again, to find my writing voice, learn from all of you, and contribute however I can. My goal is simple: to write with the same passion I had before and to share pieces that inspire, make people smile, or at least nod in agreement. Whether it’s heartfelt stories, random thoughts, crypto news, gaming content, or just rambling posts like this one, I’m ready to let my words flow again.
To those who remember me, thank you for the memories that drew me back here. And to those I haven’t met yet, I can’t wait to connect and grow together.
Oh, and I’d like to introduce some new partners I’ve brought along with me during my hiatus. I hope you’ll like them, hahaha.
Meet Kopi
This is Kopi, a female civet given to me by a coworker. He couldn’t keep her anymore due to having young children and living in an unsuitable environment. So, he entrusted her to me.
and Meet Dongi
This is Dongi, a 3-year-old female cat. You can call her Dong Dong or Dugong, hahaha. The name was given by my younger sister, who’s a big K-Pop fan. As you might’ve guessed, the name was inspired by a Korean idol, hahaha.
This is just a little piece of writing after my 4-year hiatus. I’m not sure if it’s understandable or not, four years away has made me rusty in writing for Steemit, but I’ll work hard to catch up. I’d really appreciate any feedback or suggestions you might have.
"Let’s start this new chapter and reignite the old flame that had dimmed.
It’s so good to be back!"
Oh, by the way, can we still write about crypto news here? Or is there another forum specifically for crypto topics? I’d appreciate any guidance you can share.
Welcome back! Destiny or root but you are always welcome in your familiar place.
