Hai, hello, Steemians!

Hope you’re all doing great wherever you are. Continuing my posts about introducing myself, in my last post, I introduced my first partner in crime, DongDong. You can check out the post here – Dong Dong: The Chubby Cat.

Now, moving forward, in this post, I want to introduce Kopi, the civet. Say hi, Kopiii…

Meeting That Wasn't Planned

So, here’s the story, guys. This is about Kopi. Not the drink, okay? This Kopi is an adorable and super cute female civet. Why the name Kopi? Because when I first met her, her dark gray fur with unique patterns reminded me of black coffee spilled on a table. Creative, right? Hahaha.

Honestly, I never planned to have a civet as a pet. But maybe it was fate. My friend, who was her original owner and loves keeping all sorts of animals (including civets), couldn’t take care of her anymore due to some reasons I can’t share here. Since my friend knew I’m an animal lover, they decided to pass the torch to me.

And now, as you can see, she’s living with me, hehehehe.

The Sleep Expert

When it comes to personality, Kopi is top-notch. She’s so well-behaved for a civet, definitely less moody than DongDong, hahaha. But she has one unique habit: she loves sleeping. Seriously. If you read my previous post, you’d know who she reminds me of, hahaha.

Whether it’s on the floor, a table, or any random spot she finds cozy, she’ll stretch out and doze off like she doesn’t have a care in the world. Sometimes, I think I should take notes from Kopi, whatever happens, sleep first, think later, hahaha.

Bananas

Now, about food, this is an interesting one. Turns out Kopi has a favorite food: bananas! Yep, you read that right. She’s absolutely bananas for bananas.

I know civets typically eat fruits, insects, and sometimes meat. But I didn’t expect her to love bananas this much. At first, I offered her a variety of fruits, bananas, papayas, apples, and some others (can’t remember all of them, haha). Out of everything, she only finished the bananas, nibbling just a bit of the other fruits.

Since then, I mostly feed her bananas, with the occasional treat of crickets or sago worms.

Kopi

I already have several cats at home, but Kopi’s arrival has truly added a new spark to my life. Although I wasn’t confident at first about taking care of a civet, now it feels like the house is livelier.

There are lots of fun moments watching Kopi interact with my cats, even if it doesn’t happen too often because, well, they all prefer sleeping over playing, hahaha.

Cheers, Kopi 🍌

* So, for those of you considering getting a pet, a civet like Kopi could be an exciting choice. But make sure you’re ready to care for them! While they’re adorable, civets need attention, proper food, and a comfortable space to live in.

Finally, if you have unique pets, share your stories! Maybe we can swap experiences. Alright then, see you in the next story!
