Exploring Photography Vol. 1
This series of articles will discuss my daily life in searching for and learning about photography. I will try to learn everything related to photography, and all of it will be documented in this "Exploring Photography" article series.
Hello Steemians, how are you?
I hope you are always happy.
As an office worker, the daily routine often makes me feel bored, as I do the same things every day. Recently, I started looking for ways to break out of this monotonous cycle. One thing that caught my attention is the world of photography. With a smartphone camera always at hand, I decided to give this new hobby a try.
Photography is not entirely new to me. Back in school and college, I had tried it out, but only briefly and without committing to it. At the time, the tools I used were very limited. In fact, my phone didn’t even have a decent camera back then, so I would just borrow a camera from a friend.
Fast forward to the present, I am now working, and my phone’s camera is significantly better. Given the somewhat monotonous office routine and my weekly visits to the traditional market, where there are so many things to capture, I decided to revisit the world of photography. Even though I’m only using my phone’s camera, I’ll do my best.
To make it easy to start, I chose simple and readily available objects: fruits. Apples and oranges are abundant and easy to find in traditional markets. It might sound ordinary, but I wanted to see if I could capture the artistic side of these objects.
Before
Editing: Colors and Contrast
After taking some photos, I experimented with editing apps. I used Adobe software like Camera Raw and Photoshop. I can’t explain in detail what I did, but you can see the settings I adjusted and tweaked.
Reflection: What I Learned
Can everyday fruits become such interesting subjects? I also learned that editing is an essential part of the process. With small adjustments, an ordinary photo can turn into an enchanting piece of art. From this simple experiment, I realized that photography isn’t just about capturing images, it’s also about seeing things from a different perspective.
After
Next Steps
This is just the beginning for me. Maybe next, I’ll try photographing landscapes or even street photography. Photography isn’t entirely new to me, but this activity feels incredibly exciting, and I can’t wait to keep exploring it.
What about you? Have you ever tried seeing the world through a camera lens? If not, maybe now is the right time to start. Who knows, you might discover a new passion just like I did.
See you on the next journey
I hope for all your support
