Great surprise today! As I was quietly drinking coffee in my garden, a noise stopped me. A noise of an animal in the leaves which, unlike usual, was much louder.
Curious, I took a look and my eyes met another one, too happy by this surprise I ran upstairs to get my camera to share this great news with the whole world! Godzilla is back 🤣
The lizards in my garden I'm familiar with, remember I made a post about one of them 2 years ago, but this size much less.
This is a Malaysian monitor lizard, a fairly common species in Thailand.
Having the scientific name of varanus salvator, this lizard can reach up to 3 meters long and 60kg. More generally we find it in the 2 meters. Its period of reproduction is during the rainy season.
Beginning to be a little less shy, our mini Godzilla started to come out of hiding, making it easier to be photographed.
