What does this old childhood game have to do with this old Cashew Crunch can? Nothing.

But! It does have something to do with what is in the can. How so?

Well. My mom sewed. Everything. From skirts to doll clothes to bathing suits. And for as long as I can remember this was her button can. Puts some age to it. We will go with over 60 years as a generality.

I was lucky enough to get this momento when mom passed. I dug through this button can many, many times as a young girl. Because they were pretty, to find a button to play a game with, or sometimes to pick out ones for my clothes. Even sometimes cause I just needed a button.

This past weekend I came across the button can and had to open it. This I had not done since it became mine. Here we go.

Out spills the pretty, the old, the mismatched, the lonely single buttons, the unused. Some odd ones, too.

I will always wonder about those unused ones.

Here is what I found.

Hope you enjoy. Mom collected a fancy bunch of buttons for sure. Find anything special?

Out of pure curiosity I had to check Ebay for the can. Glad she chose this can....there were ones for sale. The price varied tremendously so all I really know is it is collectable.

By the way, anyone ever play Button. Button. Whose got the button?
