Our ship has passed through the straits;

 like the good that passed from our byes.

Slowly now picking through the memories

 of our cresting lies.

I forgot again to sit back in trust of you and

 just enjoy the ride.

Shadows form 40 years off glimpsed from the

 twinkle in your eyes.

The wire snaps, a soul falls loose, the moment

 forgets to sigh.

In this mirror will the darkness ever recall it was

 the first light.

If everything was possible was it even worth a

 try.

If not for your love to lose would fate cared to

 been so snide.

When hope rings false daring an empty tear to

 be cried.

Leaving time's illusion steadfast in the void by

 my side.

Oh, the break the bonds of this gravity and catch

 you where you now fly.

With one last desperate memory reaching down

 through the sky.

To fill the sails of our passing lives and feel the good,

 in this goodbye.
