We have that kind of schedule now, too - 12-hour day or night shifts. I certainly think it is very difficult. My daughter works as a barista - she's used to it, she's fine. My brother works in a boiler room - he's used to it too. Twenty-year-olds like this kind of schedule, but it has to be flexible - to plan as you want.
And I always don't get enough sleep, it seems to me)
It is a metter of time and a habit I believe we slowly get used to many things. So long it does not affect our recreation that is all right, it is important to notice in time that it is time for change.
