These are the finished self watering pots made out of PET bottles. I was not able to take some photos for the step by step process of making them. My intention is to show you that I was able to do this on my own following some tutorials I found on Youtube. There are a ton of them so if you are interested to learn how searching on YT is helpful.
They said the set up is intended for self watering mechanism. My goal is to find out if this would work and that is what I will be writing about soon. Here you see the bottles are ready. I had planted a seed of okra on each pot.
The top portion is the pot that holds the soil then at the bottom I attached a piece of cloth which will absorb water going up to the soil. So that is how the self watering mechanism is about.
I had been planning on doing this for a long time but today is the only time I got to sit and execute. The bottles and the seeds are ready since September. I am glad I did it today which took me less than 30 minutes to do everything. From cutting the bottles in half down to planting the seeds. Hope this would work.
Until next post,
Gus
