I am really glad that you like the thumbnail photo @hazyjames Mushrooms are a subject which one can photo best from eye level. Same like when interacting with a dog or a child. They connect with you better when you’re not just looking at them from above.
There was somebody who foraged few of these mushrooms that day by the way and got told off by the park rangers. They, male and female, were wearing bright orange T-shirts 😱 The least you might find suitable for the job 🤔 Anyway, so it’s not allowed to forage for mushrooms in Richmond Park. It doesn’t sound that you’re considering that but I thought I’d rather mention it. The park rangers also explained that even if you’re certain that this mushroom is edible you can’t be sure what’s been on it, so it’s never a good idea to pick it up, go home and cook tea 👩🍳 You might even hate mushrooms or are allergic to them.
They are not my favourite thing to eat at all, I don’t mind the taste but the texture is not for me. I don’t mind cooking them though if there is someone who enjoys eating them.
Hopefully the person you saw getting caught taking mushrooms knows which ones they were picking or a telling off might have been the least of their worries…

That’s very we’ll said @hazyjames It might be an idea for another post about turning every negative into a positive. The park rangers sounded very knowledgeable and experienced. Not sure about the forager as then he also said that he thought to feed some of these mushrooms to the deer in the park hopefully not just to take a selfie 🤳 While all these was going on a green woodpecker flew by which actually made my day👌
