We started in the weeks of December rains here in Portugal, and today I have a great opportunity to photograph the full moon, it is at 95% visibility and of course let's remember that as the end of the month approaches, the moon completes its cycle. lunar and therefore will reach 100% visibility between the last days of December, I wanted to take the opportunity to publish my first post on steemit about the beautiful satellite that lights up our nights! This post consists of seeing the most outstanding characteristics of the moon.π§ π‘
WHAT IS THE MOONπ¨βπ»π¨βπ«/QUE ES LA LUNAππ
The moon illuminates us for millions of years and it is our only satellite, unlike, for example, jupiter, which has several moons, we could define the moon as a beautiful natural satellite, it has a rocky structure, in addition to being a celestial body as mentioned above. Moon does not have other moons or rings like the planet Saturn, trying to explain the uncertain origin of this satellite is not easy since for NASA it is still a mystery, several theories have been postulated about its formation but the most accepted is that It originated approximately 4.5 million years ago, the theory is that a huge meteor impact with our planet, the debris from the impact was expelled and the moon originated from there!π΅οΈββοΈπ¨βπ«π¨βπ
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MOONπ¨βπ»π¨βπ«/CARACTERISTICAS DE LA LUNAππ
The moon has many mysteries to reveal to us and has been the object of studies for thousands of years, since the oldest civilizations such as the Egyptians already carried out small studies on the moon since it is one of the brightest celestial bodies and very easy to recognize in it. Sky, it is important to know that the moon is at a distance of 384,400 kilometers from our earth, as I mentioned after our big yellow star (sun) is the second brightest object in the sky! the moon orbits our planet in a span of 27 days!πͺπ
The moon has two faces, one that is always visible towards our planet and the opposite side of the moon that is totally dark and that despite being less studied, a lot is known about the dark side of the moon, we have such advanced technology that it has revealed that the far side has many craters, depressions on the surfaces and most importantly there is no water! Without the moon, life would not exist as we see it today since it has a great influence on the cycles of our earth such as the famous tides!πͺπ

At this point today 12/19/2021 the moon has the following characteristics, it has a 95.98% visibility, it is in a waning moon, it remains approximately one week to reach its phase (last quarter), at this point the moon has an age of 15.90 days, and on January 2, 2022 the moon passes into its initial phase new moon!π€π¨βπ«
The moon is rocky, there is no liquid form on its surface, we can see hundreds of craters on the moon that scientists have studied and named each crater, they are generally called "seas", the moon's atmosphere is too weak And that is why for millions of years it received impacts from meteorites and that is why the craters, the moon does not have an "atmosphere" as the earth is called an "exosphere" instead, it is very weak and thin, some storms have been registered.π€π¨βπ«π
