My latest drawing from imagination.

It is part of an update to my guide for drawing from imagination.

For drawing from imagination, perspective drawing is the key.

Start by drawing boxes in 1-, 2-, and 3-point perspective.

Then, try to draw boxes from imagination, though in perspective (imagine where the vanishing points should be).

If you struggle, remember that every set of two parallel lines in reality, converge when drawing in perspective.

Tip:

To find the center point of each rectangle, draw 2 lines from its vertices (corners).

Now you can find the center of any rectangle that you draw (part of a box).

You can use that to draw night stands (for example), with drawers.

Once you know how to draw in perspective, it is time to render your drawings.

To do that, first you need to know how to draw realism

Then, texture drawing can take your drawings to the next level.
It can be from imagination:

Or, from observation:

Tip:

When drawing shadows, every texture or crack gets darker in the shadow area.

More on how to draw realistic texture, you can learn from my realistic texture drawing guide.

Here is another drawing from imagination:

For that, you need to learn how to draw ellipses and cylinders in perspective. I will write about it in a future post.

Sort Order:

I don’t know why your imagination worked in this particular direction, there is too much drama here, but the execution of the drawing is excellent as always.

Me too. I just wanted to draw wood.
So I started with a kennel. Then I drew a fence, but did not like it, so I added a cross.
Then I thought the cross might symbol death, so I decided to add some cracks and holes to the kennel and to the floor.
:o)

I'm glad to hear that changes in plans during the creation of this drawing did not entail a real tragedy and you did not lose your dog or something else terrible. This line of thinking is quite realistic, but I paid attention to the cross, but not to the hole in the floor of the doghouse; unfortunately, I am not able to enlarge the photograph of the drawing to take a closer look at all the details. I hope you are safe due to the missile attacks yesterday.

Actually, now many unmanned aerial vehicles are on our way to attack us (they should be here in 1 hour and 20 minutes.
More on the way from another front.
Missiles are maybe on the way too.
update: cruise missiles are on the way.
In addition, maybe ballistic missiles are on the way too.
End of update
Update 2
All ballistic missiles were destroyed.
There are still many missiles and UAVs on their way.
End of update 2
As for dogs, I lost 4 dogs :o(
I do not want to have another dog, it is too sad for me when they die.
