For part of a new update to my guide on paper for drawing, I drew a couple of reed plant drawings.
First one on a Fabriano 1264 Drawing paper.
I started with a pen, and then colored it with 3 markers (starting with the darkest, and gradually using the light ones).
The Fabriano 1264 Drawing paper is grainy, and therefore great for both sketching and drawing.
Here is another example with this paper (this time with pencils).
The second paper I tested is the Fabriano 1264 Bristol.
Bristol paper is very smooth and very white.
In the example above I used a pencil to draw the card, pen and markers to draw the reed, pencil and markers to draw the envelope.
It is a great paper for mixed media.
