I have never surfed in a shorebreak. Not even sure there are in my country (Israel).
As far as I remember from the countless surfing and bodyboarding videos and magazines I've seen when I was young, Waimea Bay had shorebreaks.
In my time, the two most famous bodyboarders were Mike Stewart and Ben Severson. I had the Morey Boogie Mach 7-7 (I still have it in my car trunk, don't know why...).

Shorebreak is kind of a loosely defined term but when you see it you know it! Haha. Maybe at high tide with a strong swell you might get some in Israel.
Those guys are legends! Funny thing is I'm even older than them. Hmmm, Maybe not all that funny :)

I think it always looked scary when I watched bodyboarding movies with shorebreaks. It looks dangerous.

Indeed. I was bodyboarding from age 13 till 35. I even remember the last time I went to bodyboard.
There were few occasions of some real big waves, and it was super scary. Yet, it was nothing as big as in the movies. It was big for me though :o)
